Picking Winners and Losers: You and what you do with your vote in 2022

American Cathedral Forum

Sunday, February 13th at 10:00 a.m.

The American Cathedral Forum – Paris, France

Won’t you join? The American Cathedral is sending the following announcement about my presentation.

You will learn about aggressive efforts over the last 150 years to block people from voting in the U.S. Yes, huge breakthroughs have marked the time, as well, and you will hear about some of them. As we head into an election season marked by widespread efforts to make voting in many states more difficult, these issues could hardly be more timely.

Feb. 13, 2022’s speaker, Nita Wiggins, is a TV commentator and author of the acclaimed memoir Civil Rights Baby. A journalism lecturer at CELSA Sorbonne and other universities, she trains students to write empathy into their reporting to bring about fairer treatment of people.

The program is at 10 a.m.

Join us at 3:00 p.m. for a special Les Dimanches Musicaux concert featuring protest music from the 1960s.

It's H E R E ... new edition of Civil Rights Baby

Dear Friends and Readers,

With much gratefulness and joy, I’m pleased to announce the arrival of Civil Rights Baby: My Story of Race, Sports, and Breaking Barriers in American Journalism.

I hope you will enjoy my memoir, which I lovingly wrote for people who are seeking a spark to go forward in the face of challenges.

“Nita is a tour de force of a human being”

—Todd Brown, PhD, Inspire Project

 “A story of resilience”

—Falila Gbadamassi, journalist

Why a new edition? It features some heroic people and their actions that affected civil rights since 2020.

Overall, the book is an unflinching exposé of the opportunities and the obstacles in a woman’s life in TV journalism—my life.

You may purchase the book at The Red Wheelbarrow (Paris), Book Tavern (Augusta, Ga), and fine bookshops everywhere.

If you read it, please share your reaction with me.

Paperback: ISBN 978-1-7375805-0-8  Ebook: ISBN 978-1-7375805-1-5
